Hormone pellet therapy utilizes pellets which are bio-identical forms of estrogen and testosterone to bring hormones back into a healthy balance. Renew My Wellness pellets are derived from either Yam (Testosterone) or Soy (Estradiol) with no added binders or fillers and are compounded into tiny pellets by a compounding pharmacist under sterile conditions.

Hormone pellets are the size of a grain of rice, and are placed under the skin during an office visit. To do this, the physician will make a very small incision, usually in an inconspicuous place such as the top of the buttocks. The procedure takes about 10 minutes and has very little if any pain or discomfort.

Pellets are made to slowly release the hormones into the bloodstream over the next several months, this method of release maintains a more constant physiologic level of hormones in your body.

The procedure generally needs to be repeated every three to six months, depending on a doctor’s recommendation. Each case is different, and it is best to talk with your doctor about your own situation and needs.

Most patients start to notice changes within 72 hours after insertion of hormone pellets. Maximum benefit is noticed three weeks after insertion.

Most patients have steady levels of hormones for three to six months (3-6 months) after insertion. If symptoms return prior to three months, your dosage may need to be adjusted or you may need a booster dose.
